Biography

Leigh is a wife, mom, yogi, and serial entrepreneur. Her passion is helping people, especially those in her esteemed profession. Being an attorney is both a huge honor and responsibility, which can often be challenging to balance. While not always perfect (who is?), Leigh has relentlessly worked to maintain her own wellness, take care of family, and build an ethical and successful law practice.
It takes self-compassion, love, empathy, knowledge and risk. Leigh helps other lawyers build a successful practice, while maintaining their work-life balance. It can be done and it’s okay to ask for help.
As the principal of Leigh K. Freeman Attorney at Law PLLC founded in 2017, Leigh has been practicing civil law since 2003. She has represented businesses and individuals in a wide variety of fields, including real estate, franchise, oilfield services, IT, financial services, and energy, to name a few. In addition, Leigh helps families prepare their estate plan.
Leigh is on the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Bar Association, where she currently serves as Treasurer. She is a Member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
Leigh has given CLEs to attorneys, paralegals and CPAs. She recently had the honor of giving the Employment Law Update at the 2024 Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Business Summit.
Leigh spent the first five years of her career focusing on complex commercial litigation at a downtown Denver general practice firm. After moving to The Woodlands, Leigh was on Counsel for a local general practice firm. In this role, she continued to litigate business disputes, as well as expanded her practice to include representation of clients in transactional matters. During the recent pandemic, Leigh expanded her practice to include estate planning to help her business clients with succession planning. Due to high demand, she has expanded that practice area to represent a variety of people and families.
Leigh is a 2003 graduate of the University of Denver, College of Law. While in law school, she served as a Staff Editor of the University of Denver Law Review and won the school’s Hoffman Trial Competition and Natural Resources Appellate Competition. As a law student, Leigh completed an internship with the United States Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. As an undergraduate, she was inducted as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and served as the co-captain and national qualifying attorney for the University’s Mock Trial Team.
